And by the way, you should retake some history lessons. First of all, not all the Germans of that era killed people; it was more like a minority who did it and they didn`t really promote the concentration camps in the german radio – so not all germans knew that there was killing involved. Second of all there has been some big concentration camps in Poland and Austria, so there are more to blame than just the germans…
And to be hyper-correct Hitler wasnt even a German..

someguy, i laud you. by far you are the most intelligent person on this thread, but the germans did know about the camps, and the Nazis were a eastern European majority. Now, that does not mean all men in the Nazi armed forces believed in what they were fighting for, but the third reich had the support of much of the population. Aushwitz and other major camps in Poland and austria were, of course, built by the invading Nazis, so, really, the Polish and Austrians are of little to no blame. the premature UN-like organization was really to blame for the whole war; they could have wiped out Hitler’s army the second he invaded Austria, but it wasn’t big enough in their minds… oops

As a knitter, I must say that the attention to detail on the little guy is amazing. This could have been a doll fashioned after a bum off the streets and would still be significant. Look at the red armband, the collar, the hat. Whomever knit this doll is pretty skilled and I envy them.

now im sorry, cause i have immensely enjoyed reading this thread for the passion of peoples arguments… but i am going to say aKnitter is my hero. the history, language, gramatical errors and horrorrs from the past should not be what you see when you look at this little woolen chap. he is superbly made and any knitter can see that and you all need to get a cup of tea and calm down a bit.
